The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) is an instruction book to Catholic doctrine, summing up the faith and moral teaching of the Catholic Church. It was enacted October 11, 1992 and formally published on 7 December 1992. Its wording was suggested by the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops of 1985, twenty years after the Second Vatican Council and approved by John Paul II December 7, 1985.
